Cookies are small text files stored on your device. Songly Music uses them to run the blog, measure traffic, show ads, and play YouTube videos. This page lists the types we actually use — not a generic template.
Cookies we use
| Type | Who | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Essential / hosting | Google Blogger | Serve pages, security, load balancing, remembering basic site preferences. |
| Analytics | Google Analytics 4 (G-FSESX318P9) |
Counts visits, popular posts, devices, and referrers so we know if anyone is reading. |
| Advertising | Google AdSense (ca-pub-9587992901107356) and Google advertising partners |
Show ads, limit how often you see the same ad, measure clicks, and (if you allow it) personalize ads. |
| Video | YouTube / Google | Set when you press play on an embedded lyric video. Used for playback, bandwidth, and view counts. |
We do not run a separate marketing pixel, Facebook tracking pixel, or email-retargeting cookie of our own.
How long they last
Session cookies expire when you close the browser. Persistent cookies stay until they expire or you delete them. Google sets its own lifetimes for Analytics and ads cookies; we do not override those.
Your controls
- Browser settings: block third-party cookies or delete existing ones. Pages will still load; ads may be less relevant and embeds may ask you to accept YouTube cookies.
- Personalized ads: Google Ads Settings
- Industry opt-out: aboutads.info/choices
- Analytics: Google Analytics opt-out add-on
If you block all cookies, contact-form spam protection and some theme features (saved UI state) may fail. That is a browser choice, not a requirement to use the editorial content.
