About Songly Music

Songly Music is a small editorial project that features independent artists with original writing and lyric videos. We listen first, write a short note about why the song is worth your time, then send you to the official video.

If you landed here from YouTube, this site is the companion: artist context, song details, and links. If you landed here from search, the videos live on YouTube @songlymusic.

What we publish

  • Lyric video features — a watchable video plus a short, original note (who the artist is, what the song is about, why we featured it).
  • Artist discoveries — independent and emerging musicians, not a mirror of Billboard charts.
  • Song notes — mood, theme, and craft. Not a full lyric dump.
  • Occasional original stories — when a song sparks a narrative, we say so clearly.

We do not claim to own the songs we feature. Credits and rights stay with the artists, writers, and labels. We quote short excerpts only when they support commentary, then point you to the video and the artist’s own pages.

How a feature is put together

Every page should answer four things in the first screen: the artist, the song, what it feels like, and where to listen. Then we embed the video (privacy-enhanced YouTube) and add links so you can follow the artist. That format is better for readers, better for search, and cleaner for advertising partners than a page of pasted lyrics.

We prefer artists who already have an official audio or video we can embed. If you want to be featured, use the contact page and include your name, the song, a streaming or YouTube link, and a one-sentence pitch. We cannot feature every submission, and a message is not a placement guarantee.

Who is behind this?

Songly Music is run as a one-person music blog and YouTube channel. Posts are written and published by Songly Music. There is no newsroom and no “team of writers” — if a page says otherwise, it is outdated. For questions, features, or corrections, use Contact.

Editorial standards

  • Original sentences on every feature — not spun or scraped bios.
  • Artist names, titles, and credits checked against the video or the artist’s page.
  • Corrections: email us and we will update the page when we are wrong.
  • Advertising (Google AdSense) is how the site stays online. Ads are labeled by Google and do not change which songs we feature.
  • Affiliate or donate links, if used, are disclosed on that page.
